ROSA sailing to Kalpeni Feb 2007 NEW - people wanting to go sailing but need others to join them to make up the numbers and to have more fun. See here

The Lakshadweep Islands (formerly know as the Laccadives and meaning 100,000 islands) are coral atolls off the West Coast of India. They are the epitomy of the coral island paradise. Coral sands and crystal clear waters teaming with fish and turtles await you.

Kondo Syokai are the first to offer sailing trips to and around the islands onboard their 50' yachts - see pictures of the sailing yacht ROSA here

Foreign visitors require landing permits and are currently restricted to visiting 3 of the islands - Agatti, Kadmat and Bangaram.

Getting to the Islands is either by air or sea. Several operators provide flights from Cochin International Airport to Agatti Island - about 1.5 hours flying time. There are also ferries that ply between Cochin and the Islands - the timetable and Ports of call are variable. Kondo Syokai also provide sailing trips to the Lakshadweeps - 2 days sailing each way, see below.

Kondo Syokai will book transportation and secure permits for all guests.
